Teriyaki Marinade, Joy of Cooking, p 529
Combine and mix well:
1/2 C vegetable oil
1 C soy sauce (use real soy sauce, not La Choy)
3 T brown sugar
3 mashed cloves garlic
1 T fresh grated gingerroot
2 T sherry
Marinate meat 4 to 12 hours. Zip lock bags work really well.
If doing chicken breasts, best cooking in the over broiler, 6 minutes, turn, and 6 minutes again. If you grill them, DON'T overcook.
