The organizers: Sarah made the reservations, Riley got people organized. The players: Sarah and Andy, Marty (Mom), Charlie and Annie, Jenny and Nick, Billy and Eliza, Riley and friends from Boston, Chris and Bala, Trisha and MJ. Those missed and missed out: Will who used Europe as an excuse, and Naomi, who is at astrophysics camp(!)

The location: Franconia Notch State Park. The hike: Little Haystack Mountain, 4780 feet, and about 6.4 miles. Except for the high voltage ones, Jenny, Billy (sibling rivalry?), Nick and Eliza, who did the entire loop of Little Haystack, Lincoln, and Lafayette (3 4000 footers) in less time than the rest of us did our up and back. But Sarah, Andy, Riley, Chris and Bala hiked with me a bunch, otherwise I'm sure they would have been right there with the young'ens.

The menu: Friday night - burgers, dogs, the usual. SATURDAY - teriyaki steak ala Charlie, bean salad, fresh corn on the cob, great salad with avacodo, lots of beer (everyone is now legal), wine, smores.

Memorable moment: Ranger Rick saying to Jenny, "I don't want a confrontation and you all are not being noisy but you can only have four people per campsite. And you can't have that birch branch holding up your tarp."

Moment waitng to happen: The kids do all the packing.
